How Does Zip Work?
With Zip, you can book your hair service or purchase products from Honeycomb House of Hair and enjoy them right away—while only paying 25% upfront.
The remaining balance is split into three easy, interest-free payments, automatically charged every two weeks.
How Much Can I Spend with Zip?
If you meet Zip’s minimum credit requirements, you’ll be given a starting spend limit between $100 and $850, based on a personalised credit assessment.
As you use Zip responsibly and make your payments on time, your limit can increase—up to $1,000 for most customers, or $2,000 if you have a strong credit history.
How Do I Sign Up?
Signing up is quick and easy!
You can create a Zip account during checkout on our website—or anytime at
zip.co/nz.
The process takes just 2–3 minutes. You’ll need to be 18 or older, have a valid New Zealand ID, and a NZ debit or credit card.
What If I Don’t Have a NZ Driver Licence?
No problem! Zip just needs to verify your identity.
If your ID isn’t automatically accepted, you can complete a manual verification during sign-up or checkout using alternative documents (like a passport or 18+ card).
This step may take up to 24 hours, so simply follow the prompts to get started.
Are There Hidden Fees?
Not if you pay on time!
There are **no interest charges or fees** for using Zip when your payments are made by their due dates.
However, please note: for orders placed from 12:00 AM NZST on 31 July 2023 onward, a late fee of **$10** applies per missed payment (up to a maximum of $40 per order).
Orders made before this date are not affected by the updated fee.
Can I Spend Above My Zip Limit?
Yes! If your total is slightly over your available Zip credit, you can still complete your purchase by paying the difference upfront.
The system will automatically calculate this during checkout—so you’ll see exactly what’s due now and what’s split over time.
Why Was My Application Declined?
Zip makes all credit decisions independently based on their own assessment criteria.
As a retailer, Honeycomb House of Hair does not have access to your application details or influence over Zip’s decision.
If you’d like to understand why you were declined or need support, please contact Zip directly at
zip.co/nz.
